Electrical Safety Course

Course Overview:

This course is aimed at both electrical and non-electrical personnel. The course covers the main electrical safety principles and focuses on electrical hazards during working with low, medium, and high voltage circuits such as electric shock and electric arc flash; relevant legislation and industry best practice are also covered. This Course describes the hazards of electrical work and basic approaches for working safely.

The Course will present many topics including the main types of electrical injuries, the danger of electricity; the potential electrical hazards will be described, controlling electrical hazards in the workplace and Lock-out/Tag-out Procedure.

Who Should Participate:

The course is suitable for non-electrical and electrical engineers, HSE staff and Site Supervisors.

 Learning Outcomes:

After successfully completing the course, the participants will be better able to:

  • Define the basic electrical terminology.
  • Understand the effect of electricity on human body.
  • List and understand the potential electrical hazards in the workplace.
  • Understand the step and touch Potential and how to control them.
  • List and understand the electrical protective systems.
  • Explain Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.

The Participants shall receive hard copy for the course material.

None required

 Course Duration:

The course duration is 1 Day.

Course Examination:

After completion the course there will be a 30- minutes test.

Course Certification:

Attending the session of the course and test are mandatory for getting the local Course certificate or the international one from the National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP) in USA.

Course Language:

The course material shall be available in Arabic and English.
