Working at Heights Updated Course

Course Overview

This course is designed to provide participants with the skills, knowledge and techniques to identify all the hazards associated with working at heights and to develop and implement a site-specific Working at Height Safety Program including the safe use of safety harnesses and rescue at heights.

The course has been organized and developed based on the International American Standards (OSHA 1926, 1910). The Course provides an excellent technical background in the main essentials for working at heights and rescue safely. (The course includes practical training onsite if possible).

Who Should Participate?

All multinational Organizations which they have working at a height in their scope of work and need to enhance the level of safety implementation during their work and prevent any undesirable accident coming from this kind of work. The course is designed for each single person who works or may work at heights by any means and uses a safety harness. It is highly recommended for all safety personnel at different levels and for all rescuers at heights.

Learning Outcomes

After completing the course, the participants will be better able to;

  • Explain the hazards associated with working at heights such as working on platforms, steel structures, Scaffolds, Ladders, Roofs, etc.
  • Identify and select the most appropriate fall protection system and reduce the potential of fall hazards.
  • Discuss the importance of safety harnesses, their limitations and the proper way of use, donning, inspection and storage.
  • Conduct inspection on Scaffolds and ladders to ensure their safety for use.
  • Discuss how to react properly in case of fall and how to proceed in rescue (Rescue Plans).
  • Discuss the different tools used in rescue and apply it when needed practically.

The Participants shall receive a hard copy of the course material.

Pre-course Preparation requirements

None required.

Course Duration

The course duration is 3 days (2 Days Theoretical + 1 Day Practical Training)

Course Certification

Attending all sessions and passing exam is mandatory for getting the internal Course Certificate.

There is an option for issuing an international Certificate and wallet cards from the International Association of Safety Professionals (IASP) in the USA.

The course material is available in English and Arabic.
